Chongqing Investment Promotion Association

EuChamEuCham is recently forming strong relationship with China, as part of it started co-operation with the Southwest region. On 30 June 2015, the partnership with China has been strengthened as EuCham - European Chamber and the Chongqing Investment Promotion Association (CQIPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Chongqing, China.

Ms Dong DeHong, director of CQIPA, presented the organisation to Mr David Kovacs, EuCham Country Representative. CQIPA is an institution under the direct leadership of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, which was designated by Chongqing municipal government to provide services to foreign investors. With a population of more than 30 million people, Chongqing is a fast-growing direct-controlled municipality in China, with a GDP comparable to an European country.

EuCham and CQIPA discussed possible ways to cooperate and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), resulting in a commitment to help creating new business opportunities, promoting investments and trade between Europe and China. The cooperation is also relevant to the new initiatives of the Chinese Government, the New Silk Road and the One way One belt, all welcomed and supported by the European Union. Both parties are looking forward to a prosperous collaboration with relevant opportunities going to be shared by EuCham with its members and partners.
