China’s development and challenges

China's development seminarThe former Chinese Ambassador to the United Kingdom Mr Zha Peixin introduced China’s development in an event organized by HIIA and attended by EuCham.

There are some difficulties and challenges that China faces today such as uncoordinated and relatively unsustainable development linked to the economic structures since the service sector represents only 40% of the GDP; low capacity for scientific and technological innovation; income disparities and development gap between urban and rural areas and as well as resource and environmental constraints. These are all issues that can be properly addressed with collaboration between the different economic players.

Coherent with the EuCham vision of sustainable development, the European Chamber highlights the importance of international cooperation in a context where countries are interdependent and face multiple transnational issues.
