Huge success of the Green Business Forum organized by EuCham – European Chamber on 22 Apr 2013 with over three hundred registrants for 200 places, where public and private organizations shared their view on sustainable practices.
The president of EuCham Michele Orzan urged companies and governments to work together to reach global sustainability, followed by the endorsement of EU Commissioner for the Environment Janez Potočnik with a message expressing the need for the right conditions from both ethical and profitability point of view. He encouraged organizations to work together where environmental goals and business objectives meet.
The keynote speech by Luan Shllaku (Executive Director, KFOS) addressed the environmental challenges of governmental decisions faced in Kosovo and around the world.
The Ambassador of India Gauri Shankar Gupta inspired the audience with a spiritual perspective and highlighted the need for cooperation in order to limit exploitation of nature, while the Ambassador of Denmark Tom Nørring focused on the behaviours that stand behind companies going green.
A call for action was led by Marta Bonifert (Executive Director, REC – Regional Environmental Center) moderating the panel composed by top managers such as Michael Nixon (Managing Director, Nestlé), János Takács (Chief Regional Officer – CEE, Electrolux), György Laboranovits (Managing Director, K&H), Katalin Urbán (CSR Chief, Grundfos) and Adriano Ruchini (EFQM). All participants agreed on the need to take measures now, in order to create a positive outcome for the next generation.
