A EuCham delegation hosted Mr Henri Malosse, the President of EESC – European Economic and Social Committee (eesc.europa.eu) on 6 Nov 2013 in Budapest, where they discussed achievements and high-profile projects of both institutions.
The President of EuCham Mr Michele Orzan stressed the excellency of European progress in sustainability and EuCham involvement in business integrity promotion. Mr Malosse particularly appreciated the GREENWILL project, which is heading from Europe towards a worldwide coverage after being tested in 21 countries, and suggested a coordination with a European product labeling system being developed nowadays.
Mr Patrik Kovacs, EuCham board member for young entrepreneurship, widely mentioned the latest trends and work being carried out in order to strengthen the image and attractiveness of new business creation.
According to Mr Malosse,“To bridge the gap between the EU and its citizens, strong support is needed in favor of innovative young entrepreneurs”.
Both presidents agreed on a strong focus needed in the field of ethics, especially when business is involved. Entrepreneurship should be seen as an attractive option, Mr Malosse said, and Mr Orzan added that businesses need to communicate better their social function.
