EuCham – European Chamber organises the SOCIAL BUSINESS FORUM with the aim of raising awareness and spearheading new social business initiatives in the private, public and NGO sectors.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus (founder of Grameen Bank, microfinance) defines a social business as a non-dividend company that solves a social problem and is financially sustainable. Based on Prof. Yunus’ books and philosophy to solve society’s most pressing problems through the creation of new, sustainable businesses giving the disadvantaged the power and capital to help themselves, utilizing economic tools and sustainable business models.
