Startup Europe Week Budapest 2016

Undoubtedly, the prominence of entrepreneurships and start-ups has significantly changed since the turn of the century with these concepts becoming more commonplace in contemporary society.

The regional diversity enjoyed by Europe and local policies play a significant role within its startup ecosystem. What if we could learn and share startup experiences at a European level?

The aim of the Startup Europe Week, an initiative to unite European regions, is to help entrepreneurs make a difference and in turn aid the development of the business environment in Europe. Endorsed by the European Commission, EuCham – European Chamber co-organised the Budapest edition of the startup event at Design Terminal on 2 February 2016.

The Startup Europe Week Budapest attracted over 100 attendees ranging from young aspiring talents to entrepreneurs and business owners. Participants were provided with: valuable information regarding specific programmes from regional authorities, advice on how to become successful entrepreneurs and direction to support available in Budapest regarding co-working spaces. Prior to the networking session, two guest Korean startup projects from Yeungnam University College and Andong Science College also gave an informative presentations on their concepts.

The guest speakers not only spoke about their own operational activities but also provided audience members with a wealth of invaluable knowledge and advice on both a technical and social level, reiterating the need to think with the brain and the heart. The quality of the presenters, alongside the sponsors and partners that made the event possible, all contributed towards a memorable evening which was made even more of a success due to the impressive turnout of attendees.
